Announcement to all members - opening 25th July 2020

Welcome back, we can’t wait to see you all back in the gym again soon.

First and foremost, we hope that you and your loved ones have stayed safe and healthy during the past few months.  An unprecedented time has brought us all closer together whilst maintaining a physical distance, and like us, we hope you are looking forward to a more positive future as the country gets back to normal.  A huge thank you to EVERYONE who has continued to support us with your ongoing membership and supportive freezes. You are the reason we have a shot at getting back on track, and we are truly thankful.

That being said, we cannot deny that the way we used to do things will be changing. We will be opening our doors to a vastly different world. Which means there will be some fundamental ways DUAL Strength and Fitness must adapt to be able to keep you, and our team safe for the time being. 

So please take some time to read the following to see how it affects your membership and usage with us going forward, and if you have any enquiries, please do get in touch via email to info@dualstrengthandfitness.co.uk .

Booking your training session at DUAL Strength and Fitness

To be compliant with the most recent guidelines, we will be instigating an online booking system for members to train.  We have split the days down into bookable 1 hour 30 minute time slots, which will include a 15-minute buffer for your equipment to be cleaned and to be ready to allow the next timed slot to start promptly.  This means your training sessions will be a maximum of 1 hour 15 minutes, so you should arrive “gym ready”. Please ensure that your membership details are up to date before you arrive.  The online system will go live in the coming days, you will be able to book your training slot up to 24 hours in advance. *Please note, we will look to review the booking system week to week and will remove it if we feel it’s no longer needed.

Entrance and Exit, Changing and Toilet Facilities

In order to maintain a safe flow, we will be asking that you all use the main reception as ENTRANCE ONLY. You may be asked to wait in reception briefly if there are any queries on your account, to ensure smooth entry for your fellow members.  We will be taking everyone’s temperature with an infrared thermometer before you leave reception (contactless) and you must use the hand sanitiser provided. Once you have finished your workout, you can EXIT the gym from the SIDE FIRE EXIT next to the newly refurbished gents’ toilet on the gym floor. There will be clear signs to guide you, but please ask a member of the team if you are unsure.  Members will be asked to leave at the end of each time slot, please do so promptly and respectfully, cleaning down your equipment before you leave.

The changing rooms will be temporarily decommissioned until further notice. Once the guidelines have relaxed the need for social distancing sufficiently, we can review the decision.

We would ask that you do not bring your own bags, holdalls or sweat towels, and that you use the newly installed paper towelling and disinfecting spray provided to wipe down ALL of your equipment after use. We cannot stress the importance of everyone doing their bit to keep it clean and safe.  Please bring your own water bottle, or alternatively, purchase water from reception, as the water fountains will not be in use.  Toilets will be available to use – please ask at reception for details.

Social Distancing

Some of our equipment will have to be temporarily decommissioned in order to allow members to maintain the social distancing guidelines. As and when this distancing is reviewed, we will do our best with the space we have available, to keep as much equipment in use as possible for you all. There will be plenty of signs to tell you what is out of use, and how to move around the gym. There will also be clearly marked out areas on the floor for people to use at a safe distance from each other. You must adhere to the measures and give each other the space and respect so that we can keep everything running smoothly.  Please do not move equipment, such as benches, from marked areas.  If you are not sure, please ask.

Membership Fees and Joining Fees

As part of our re-opening model, we have taken the decision to scrap ALL Joining Fees and to bring existing members in line with each other to the current monthly membership fee of £24.99 as of 25th July 2020. This will mean a small price increase for a few of you. This is not a decision we’ve made lightly, but with increased costs due to Covid-19 it is an adaption we have to make to meet the demands of this challenging time.

New members joining after the 25th July 2020 will do so at £29.99 for a monthly rolling membership.  Annual gym-only memberships renewing after the 25th July 2020 will do so at the new rate of £299.99. Class memberships will remain unchanged. Day passes will continue to be £7.50 per session. If you cancelled your membership during the pandemic and wish to re-join, please get in touch before the 25th July to secure your lower monthly/annual rate.

Classes, Personal Training & Sports Therapy

Classes will be re-introduced in the coming weeks.  Our priority is to enable gym users to find their routine and for our team to adjust to the new procedures – classes will be back, just not from the 25th July – so keep an eye out for weekly updates.

Personal Training and Sports Therapy will be conducted under strict social distancing guidelines, and with one of our experts as per your usual booking method.  Our team will take every reasonable step to ensure your safety whilst giving you the absolute best service.  Please wait for your Trainer or Sports Therapist in reception at one of the designated areas on your arrival.

Club Enhancement

As of January 2021, we will be introducing a mandatory club enhancement fee for all members.  This will be a one-off payment of £10 a year to be reinvested for the members.  You will have your say! We will run a poll across our social media platforms, where you will have the chance to vote on how that investment is spent.  New equipment? Better Facilities? Social Events? IT’S UP TO YOU! We will do this every year, which guarantees improvements to YOUR club.  More details to follow and keep an eye out on social media for updates.

Lastly, like every other small local business, we are trying our best to find our feet and to work through all of this. Your patience with us and each other is very much appreciated, and if you happen to see someone not getting it quite right, be kind. We very much look forward to seeing you again soon – stay safe and keep moving!
